COME AND SEE US!

The Royal Canadian Legion Cenotaph

Corner of Metcalfe and 4th Avenue, Rawdon (in the regional municipality of the Matawinie).

This Cenotaph was built in the memory of the Canadian dead during the two World Wars (1914-1418) & (1939-1945) as well as Korea (1950-1953). The monument comes from the region. It was designed by Geoff A. Pinker, veteran of the first World War. The unveiling took place on August 18th, 1957 after a ceremony, preceded by a parade of veterans. Since then, every year on the 11th of November, a parade marches to the cenotaph for a memorial service.
